This whole kerfuffle depends on the situation. You see, Texas is like that friend who loves a good debate, whether it's about the merits of mesquite grilling or the appropriate level of spice in chili. Recently, Texas has been in two main tugs-of-war:
- The Border Situation: Texas thinks the federal government should be doing more to secure the southern border. They've got a point, it is a long one, but a point nonetheless. Some other states, particularly those that share a border with Mexico, seem to agree.
- The Affordable Care Act: Buckle up, this one's a doozy. Texas, along with some other states, isn't exactly a fan of Obamacare. They believe it infringes on states' rights (which, you know, is a whole other debate).

Look, Texas loves to march to the beat of its own drum. But that doesn't mean they don't have some friends to back them up, at least some of the time. Whether it's border security or healthcare, Texas has got its posse, ready to wrangle whatever issue they set their sights on next. Just remember, this is a complex country with a lot of moving parts. So, while Texas might like to think of itself as a maverick, they're definitely not riding into the sunset all by themselves.
