Texan beer drinkers, rejoice! The wait is over. You can finally ditch that dusty cowboy hat you were using to fan yourself dramatically and mosey on down to your local store for a frosty Yuengling. That's right, folks, the saga of the East Coast lager and the Lone Star State has finally reached a happy ending.
A Love Story...Almost
For years, there's been a forbidden romance brewing between Yuengling, America's Oldest Brewery (fancy title, right?), and the great state of Texas. Texans, with their discerning palates (and possibly an insatiable thirst for anything remotely cold in that scorching heat), longed to experience the magic of Yuengling. Meanwhile, Yuengling, with its rich history and loyal fanbase, dreamt of expanding westward and quenching the thirst of a whole new generation of cowboys (and cowgirls!).
The Plot Thickens (or Thins Out, Depending on How You Look at It)
There were obstacles, of course. Distribution limitations kept Yuengling from venturing too far from its Eastern roots. But fear not, intrepid beer enthusiasts! In a stroke of genius (possibly fueled by a particularly delicious batch of Yuengling), the brewery partnered with Molson Coors, a brewing giant with the reach of, well, a giant. Together, they formed The Yuengling Company, specifically to bring Yuengling to the thirsty masses...including Texans!
Hallelujah! Yuengling Hits the Lone Star State (and it Wasn't a Rodeo Clown)
August 2021 marked a glorious day in Texas history (and Yuengling's ever-expanding empire). Yuengling's iconic beers, including the legendary Yuengling Traditional Lager, Light Lager 99, Golden Pilsner, and FLIGHT by Yuengling, finally landed on Texan soil. Cheers erupted from honky-tonks, tears of joy were shed by parched ranchers, and celebratory two-steppin' broke out in living rooms across the state.
So, Can You Get Yuengling in Texas?
You bet your sweet botas you can! Yuengling is now widely available throughout Texas. Head to your local grocery store, liquor store, or wherever you source your favorite brews, and see if they've got Yuengling in stock. If not, well, you might just have to give them a friendly (but firm) reminder that Texas and Yuengling are a match made in, well, maybe not heaven, but definitely a hot summer day.
