Texas. Land of wide-open spaces, ten-gallon hats, and apparently, a whole lotta confusion about how many MLB teams call this dusty state home. Don't worry, y'all, we'll clear up this little howdy-doody in a jiffy.
Two's the Magic Number (Unless You're Counting Mosquitoes)
Now, some folks might try to tell you Texas has more teams than tumbleweeds blowin' across the highway. They might be thinkin' of all the amazing minor league teams we got cookin' up future all-stars. But when it comes to the big leagues, the MLB, the top dogs – we're talkin' two teams, partner, two!
That's right, folks. A mighty fine pair of contenders:
- The Houston Astros – those buzz-worthy boys in orange who brought home the World Series glory in 2017 (sorry Rangers fans, gotta rub it in a little).
- The Texas Rangers – the team with more comebacks than a politician in an election year. (We still love ya, blue crew!)

Sure, we might only have two MLB teams, but what those two lack in quantity, they make up for in pure, unadulterated Texas-sized passion. These stadiums get rockin', the barbeque smoke fills the air, and the cheers echo louder than a rattlesnake warning.
So next time someone asks you how many MLB teams Texas has, you can give 'em a wink and a "Bless your heart," then hit 'em with the knowledge: two teams, but a whole lotta heart!
P.S. Now, if you wanna get technical, we could probably count the number of mosquitoes at a summer night game, but that's a whole different ball game (pun intended).
