Los Angeles Rain: More Like Los Angeles "Barely a Drizzle" This Year, Am I Right?

Ah, Los Angeles. The land of sunshine, celebrities, and...well, not much rain this year. As someone who enjoys a good downpour about as much as a vampire enjoys garlic bread, I can't help but marvel at the city's current commitment to staying perpetually dry.

So, How Dry Are We Talking?

Let's get down to brass tacks, because unlike the rain, facts are plentiful. As of today, April 30th, 2024, Los Angeles has seen a measly amount of rain for the year. We're talking about numbers so small, you'd need a magnifying glass and a mathematician with a serious caffeine addiction to decipher them.

Now, before you Angelenos out there reach for your raincoats in a panic (because, let's be honest, most of them are just glorified windbreakers at this point), there's a silver lining, or should I say, a sunshine lining?

The Perks of Perpetual Parchedness:

  • Kiss those bad hair days goodbye! No more humidity-induced frizz. Your hair will be as sleek and straight as a politician's answer.
  • Forget the car wash! Mother Nature is providing a free, eco-friendly car wash...with dust.
  • Water restrictions? What water restrictions? Just don't tell the drought police about your suspiciously lush lawn.

A Plea to the Rain Gods (or Whoever's in Charge)

Look, we get it. Rain isn't exactly on the top of everyone's wishlist in LA. But a little sprinkle every now and then wouldn't hurt. Just enough to wash away the dust bunnies and remind us that yes, clouds do actually exist above the smog layer.

So, rain gods, weather patterns, or whoever is calling the shots up there, how about we cut a deal? You send us a light drizzle, maybe enough to water the plants without ruining anyone's pool party, and we'll, uh...appreciate it? We'll also, maybe, possibly, consider offering a complimentary freeway closure during rush hour (don't worry, it's practically a daily occurrence anyway).

Here's hoping for a wetter future, Los Angeles. But until then, let's crank up the AC, break out the sunblock, and embrace the perpetual sunshine (because what else are we gonna do?)
