So, when is this magical fishing free-for-all?
California celebrates Free Fishing Day twice a year:
- The first one falls on the Saturday of Fourth of July weekend. Picture this: hot dogs sizzling on the grill, fireworks lighting up the night sky, and you reeling in a whopper! Talk about a star-spangled celebration!
- The second Free Fishing Day splashes onto the scene on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Soak up the last rays of summer sunshine while relaxing by the water and waiting for that tug on your line.
