How Many Aggies Does It Take to Win a Super Bowl? (Spoiler Alert: A Bunch)
Texas A&M University, home of the legendary 12th Man and an even more legendary corps of yell leaders, isn't just about whooping and hollering (though they do that darn well). They also churn out NFL players like a well-oiled sausage machine.
So, how many Aggies are out there slinging pigskins on Sundays? Enough to make Johnny Manziel say "hold my mimosa," that's how many.
Here's a look at some of the Aggie greats currently dominating the gridiron:
- Von Miller, LB, Denver Broncos (and future Hall of Famer): This linebacker's sack dance is almost as famous as his relentless pursuit of quarterbacks. Backing down from a challenge? Not in Von Miller's vocabulary. This Aggie brings the heat (and the laughs) on and off the field.
- Randy Bullock, K, New York Giants: You know what they say, "consistently clutch kickers are worth their weight in gold." Well, Randy Bullock is practically Fort Knox. This Aggie's got a leg like a mule and the accuracy of a laser pointer. Just don't ask him to explain his celebration dance...it involves kicking his leg out like a confused showgirl.
- Donovan Wilson, S, Dallas Cowboys: This hard-hitting safety lays the lumber like a lumberjack on overtime. He's got the instincts of a chess grandmaster and the tackling power of a runaway rhinoceros. Just don't get him started on the superiority of maroon over that other shade of red...cough cough Houston Texans cough cough
And these are just a FEW of the Aggie alumni lighting up the NFL. There's Josh Reynolds hauling in acrobatic catches, Kenyon Green paving the way for elusive running backs, and countless others making their mark on America's favorite sport.
So, the next time you're watching an NFL game and see an Aggie make a big play, just remember: that's the power of the 12th Man on display, baby!
(P.S. We're still waiting on our National Championship, Roger Goodell. Just sayin')
