Living in California is pretty sweet - sunshine, beaches, celebrities who might accidentally cut you in line at the grocery store (true story). - Front Side Windows: These gotta be see-through enough for you to charm the gas station attendant with your dazzling smile. That means a minimum of 70% Visible Light Transmission (VLT), which basically means they can only block out 30% of the light.
- Back Side Windows & Rear Window: Party time! These windows can be as dark as your soul desires (as long as you can still see out a bit for safety reasons).
Important Note: This applies to all vehicles, whether you're rolling in a tricked-out Tesla or a beat-up Honda Civic with questionable bumper stickers.

- Get a wind visor: Not the coolest look, but it'll deflect some sun from the top of your windshield. Bonus points for looking extra sporty (questionable).
- Crack the windows a tad: A little fresh air goes a long way. Plus, it might blow out that questionable air freshener scent.
- Invest in some good quality window shades: When you're parked, pop those bad boys up to block the sun and keep the prying eyes away (mostly to protect that half-eaten bag of Cheetos).
- Air conditioning, my friend, air conditioning: Yes, it uses gas, but hey, at least you won't look like you're driving a low-budget Batman knock-off.
