Uh oh! Solar Eclipse in Los Angeles? ️
BREAKING NEWS! Angelenos, grab your sunglasses! According to my incredibly reliable sources (cough Google Calendar cough), a total solar eclipse will plunge Los Angeles into darkness...
...
crickets
Well, that was anticlimactic. Looks like there's no solar eclipse happening in Los Angeles today, or anytime soon in fact. Maybe it's a good thing - you can save those sunglasses for a beach day instead.
whew That was a close one. My past life as a clickbait journalist is almost showing...
But hey, just because there's no eclipse today doesn't mean you can't be prepared! Here's a handy guide to future solar eclipses in Los Angeles (courtesy of someone much more reliable than my calendar):
- Doomsday is on Hold: There are no total solar eclipses predicted for Los Angeles in 2024. You can sleep soundly (with or without an eye mask).
- Mark Your Calendars: The next partial solar eclipse visible from Los Angeles will be on September 18th, 2024. It won't be a total blackout, but the moon will still take a good chunk out of the sun.
So there you have it! No need to panic about a solar eclipse today, but keep those peepers peeled for the September partial eclipse. In the meantime, stay safe out there, Los Angeles! And remember, sunglasses are always a good fashion choice, eclipse or not.
