Where in the Name of Kidd Has Severide Been?
Let’s talk about the elephant in the firehouse: Severide’s whereabouts. Or should I say, where-abouts? Because honestly, the man has a knack for disappearing faster than a Dalmatian in a hot dog factory.
The Great Severide Odyssey
Remember that time Severide decided to become an arson investigator? Not just any arson investigator, mind you, but the best arson investigator. So, he packed his bags, kissed Stella goodbye (or maybe he didn't, let's not go there), and jetted off to some unknown location. Alabama, they said. Yeah, right. I'm pretty sure he ended up in a witness protection program or something.
And then there was that whole ATF thing. I mean, who knew firefighting qualified you for undercover work? Not me, that’s for sure. I was half expecting him to emerge from a smoky building wearing a trench coat and sunglasses, saying something like, "I'm Severide, and I'm here to put out fires... and criminals."
The Return of the Prodigal Firefighter
Thankfully, our boy Severide eventually made his way back to the 51. But let’s be honest, it was touch and go there for a while. Stella was ready to call in the cavalry, Casey was probably plotting a rescue mission, and I was starting to think about writing a heartfelt eulogy.
But fear not, Severide fans! He returned, and the firehouse was whole again. Although, I'm still not entirely convinced he didn't leave a few pieces of himself behind in those arson investigations. Maybe that’s why he's been extra grumpy lately.
