Does Severide Make Captain In Chicago Fire

Severide: Captain or Just a Really Hot Lieutenant?

Let’s talk about the burning question on everyone’s lips (pun intended): Will Kelly Severide ever don the captain’s hat? Or is he destined to be the perpetually hot, perpetually reckless lieutenant we all know and love?

Severide: The Captain Material or Not?

We’ve seen Severide grow from a cocky young firefighter to a seasoned, if still somewhat reckless, leader. He’s saved countless lives, risked his own more times than we can count, and has a wardrobe that would make a model jealous. But does that equate to captain material?

On one hand, he’s undeniably brave, experienced, and respected by his team. He’s also shown flashes of leadership, taking charge in crisis situations and mentoring younger firefighters. Plus, let’s be honest, who wouldn’t want Severide as their captain? The man exudes confidence.

On the other hand, Severide is, well, Severide. He’s impulsive, rule-bending, and let's face it, he's not the biggest fan of paperwork. And let's not forget his questionable life choices when it comes to relationships. A captain needs to be level-headed, diplomatic, and, dare we say, boring? That doesn’t exactly scream Severide.

The Captain’s Chair: Is It Really That Comfortable?

Becoming a captain means trading in the adrenaline-pumping action for endless paperwork, disciplinary actions, and budget meetings. It’s basically swapping a firehose for a pen. And let's be real, who wants to see Severide stuck behind a desk? The man was born to run into burning buildings, not fill out forms.

But maybe, just maybe, a taste of the captain's life could be good for Severide. It might force him to grow up a little, become more responsible, and develop some much-needed patience. Plus, it would give him a chance to prove to everyone (especially Boden) that he’s more than just a pretty face with a penchant for danger.

The Verdict?

Honestly, we're torn. We love Severide exactly as he is: fearless, impulsive, and undeniably hot. But a part of us also wants to see him rise through the ranks and become the captain he’s capable of being.

Ultimately, the decision is up to the writers. But until then, we’ll just keep watching and hoping that Severide will find a way to balance his daredevil spirit with the responsibilities of leadership.
