A Brief History Lesson (Sort Of)
You know, Texas is one of those places that always seems to have a bit of an identity crisis. Is it the Lone Star State? Is it part of the Wild West? Is it just really big? The answer to all these questions is probably "yes," but let's focus on one thing today: was Texas ever its own country?
Believe it or not, the answer is a surprising yes. Before it was a state, Texas was actually its own independent republic. Can you imagine that? Texas, a whole entire country. It's like if Delaware decided to break off and start its own pizza empire.
