Houston, We Have a Weekend!
Houston, Texas – the city where everything is bigger, including the hairspray and the dreams of becoming an astronaut. And this weekend, it’s no different. The city is buzzing with excitement, and we’re here to give you the lowdown on what’s shaking.
Food, Glorious Food
Let’s start with the most important thing in life: food. If you're in Houston and not eating your weight in Tex-Mex, are you even really living? This weekend, there's a Taco Festival that promises to be more than just a fiesta for your taste buds. We're talking tacos filled with everything from alligator to elote, and tequila shots that will make your abuela proud (or worried).
But wait, there's more! The Houston Food Truck Park is also hosting a "Battle of the Burgers" competition. We're not sure if the winner gets a golden spatula or a lifetime supply of ketchup, but we're definitely there to find out.
Music, Music Everywhere
If you're more of a music person, Houston has you covered. There's a Jazz Fest in the park, where you can sip on mimosas and pretend you're in a sophisticated French film. Or, if you prefer to rock out, there's a heavy metal concert that promises to be louder than your neighbor's leaf blower.
For those who like something a bit different, there's a Ukrainian Folk Dance Festival happening. We're not sure if there will be polka or pierogi eating contests, but we're definitely intrigued.
Other Stuff to Do
If food and music aren't your thing, there's always the option to explore Houston's cultural scene. The Museum of Natural Science is hosting a special exhibit on dinosaurs, which is perfect if you've always wanted to feel small and insignificant. And if you're feeling adventurous, you can always take a swamp tour and try to spot a real-life alligator. Just remember to bring bug spray.
So, what are you waiting for? Grab your cowboy hat, your sunscreen, and your appetite, and head out to explore all that Houston has to offer this weekend. You won't regret it!
How To...
- How to survive the Houston heat? Stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and find a pool.
- How to find the best barbecue in town? Ask a local. They'll know.
- How to experience the city like a true Texan? Wear boots, eat barbecue, and say "y'all."
- How to avoid traffic? Good luck with that. Just kidding! Use a ride-sharing app or public transportation.
- How to have the best weekend ever in Houston? Say yes to everything!
