Let's get one thing straight: Chicago hasn’t hosted the Olympics yet. Gasp! I know, right? A city with such incredible energy, architecture that could rival any ancient wonder, and deep-dish pizza that could fuel an athlete for a marathon, you'd think the Olympic committee would be lining up to throw a party here. But alas, the Olympic gods have been a bit fickle.
Chicago has actually bid for the Olympics a few times. They put on a killer presentation, complete with dazzling visuals, promises of world peace, and a guarantee that everyone would get a deep-dish pizza. But, for some inexplicable reason, other cities always seemed to win. It’s like trying to win a hot dog eating contest against Joey Chestnut – you know you’re good, but the competition is just insane.
So, When Will Chicago Be Olympic Gold?
The short answer? We don’t know. But the long answer is filled with hope, dreams, and maybe a little bit of wishful thinking.
The Olympic committee is always looking for new host cities, so there’s always a chance. Maybe if we all start a petition, or write really passionate letters to the Olympic committee, we can make it happen. Or, you know, we could just focus on winning more medals in other cities and hope they get jealous.
Until then, we can dream, right? We can imagine the opening ceremony with fireworks exploding over Lake Michigan, athletes soaring through the air in a newly constructed sky-high stadium, and the entire world united by our love of deep-dish pizza.
