Windows 10 is a step closer to never needing passwords

Microsoft's mission of a Password Free Feature will come true because the company received official certification for FIDO2 Windows 10, the Windows Hello biometric authentication system.

This certification for Windows Update May 10 2019 (Windows 10 version 1903) must be publicly available at the end of May.

Currently, Windows 10 users can use Windows Hello to access their devices using fingerprints or face recognition on their PC.
In a blog post announcing Windows Hello Fido2 certification, the leader of cryptography, identity and authentication groups in the Microsoft Azure Core operating system, Yogesh Mehta explained why the company tried to eliminate the word in the following terms:

"People don't like passwords because we have to remember them, so we often make predictable passwords - the first target of hackers trying to access their computers or networks at work."

FIDO2 Certification

Now that Windows Hello has obtained FIDO2 certification, users can expect to see the FIDO Certified logo in the new Windows 10 PCS.

The Windows FIDO2 certification in October 1903 also outperformed Microsoft software and users could connect to their Microsoft accounts and other sites compatible with FIDO from Mozilla Firefox. Windows Hello authentication will soon be available in MS Edge version.

According to Microsoft, users must be able to use Windows Hello to access various services and applications, including Outlook, Office 365, Skype, OneDrive, Cortana, Xbox Live on PC, Microsoft Store, etc.

The use of traditional passwords will end and, fortunately, Microsoft and other technology giants like Google accept the future without our password.
