If you get the popup dialog "confirm form resubmission," it usually happens on refresh or after a back button is pressed on Chrome.

This will also sometimes receive the "ERR_CACHE_MISS" error code. However, according to the posters of super customers who studied this issue, this is no other error than "feature."

We are all living in a moment when the Internet has become a storehouse for all. The browser provides us with a portal for browsing the World Wide Web. Most of you are going to use Google Chrome as your browser.

And that's not always working the way you want. It shows some messages of error and it's difficult to understand what it intends to express most of the time. Among all those errors and pop-ups, Confirm Form Resubmission would be the most common of all you would come across. Possible error codes are displayed below:

Reason behind Form Resubmission Confirmation

Usually, this dialog box pops up in the browser to update the web pages, or to click the "Return" button. Instead of considering this as an error, Superuser posters name this a feature and have researched the matter in depth.

For instance, Buy the same item twice. If you update the page after purchasing something, you may get charged twice if you are not asked to "verify the resubmission form". So in this case it is important to get notified about a product being added in the cart.

Recommended: You can speed up your chrome and improve resource utilization by reducing Chrome CPU usage.

In addition, this problem has remained persistent despite many complaints from Chrome users and bug reports. Complicating this is that this Super User poster says the Chrome back / forward module is so poorly constructed that you can hardly solve it.

How to Disable Confirm Form Resubmission Popup

We have compiled some methods which can help you get rid of this issue. Try this method one by one.

Using Google Chrome Properties

One of Google Chrome's users was so angered and upset that he wanted this fixed anyway. He suggested that the issue could be solved by following the steps mentioned below.
  • First, right-click the Google Chrome shortcut icon and choose the Properties option.
  • You will be able to open a dialog box and get a field named Target.
  • Now add this text to the target's end, "deactivate-prompt-on-repost" (no quotes).
  • For me, the target is:
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe
  • Just alter the URL above with the following one:
  • "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" -disable-prompt-on-repost
  • Once Google Chrome has opened, close it and reopen it with the same shortcut.
  • Now check whether or not the same type of dialog pops up to refresh the web page.
NOTE -  You need to add space after " in the target otherwise, windows is not going to accept it. Thanks Spane Bosewell for pointing this out. Corrected.

You must have two shortcuts in the browser if you use this method to remove confirmation of transmission errors. One must be configured using the above method and the other must have a default property. Depending on the type of work done with the browser, you have to use both browsers.

Don’t Use The Back Button

Another feature is a Chrome user who said this is no bug, but it's because Chrome doesn't cache POST.

The solution, to "disable it," should be stopped after you have presented a form by Chrome browsers, using the back button.

Check Your Internet Connection

This pop-up might be due to the bad connection to your Internet data. Try turning it off once, restart it and verify whether or not the issue is still there.
