Smooth throttle is important for both acceleration and braking especially when driving in traffic. For a smooth acceleration avoid any sudden movements of the throttle including sudden letting off or speeding up. For braking use your brakes gently and gradually slow down avoid slamming your brakes and pressing it too hard. In general try to be as smooth as possible with the throttle and brakes to avoid sudden changes in speed
