An electric scooter can most effectively be accelerated by increasing the voltage of the motor that powers the scooter. A higher voltage motor will be able to rotate faster increasing the scooter's overall speed. Additionally it is important to keep the motor cool by ensuring it has adequate airflow and to make sure that it does not overheat during operation. Finally it is wise to maintain a stable center of gravity when applying acceleration as too much weight to one side can cause the scooter to wobble or tip over.
