To accelerate you must add more throttle. Adding more throttle will lead to more engine RPM and more engine RPM means more power and faster acceleration. In an F1 car this is done with the help of an accelerator pedal.
The accelerator pedal tells the car's onboard computer to open the throttle valve which allows more air into the engine. More air combined with more fuel leads to a bigger bang in each cycle and bigger bangs mean more power.
And more power means faster acceleration So to accelerate an F1 car you simply need to press the accelerator pedal harder.
