Is Adam Ruzek Dead? A Question for the Ages (Or at Least Until Next Season)
So, let’s talk about the burning question on every Chicago P.D. fan’s lips: Is Adam Ruzek dead? I mean, seriously, who thought this was a good idea? Did the writers have a death wish or something? Or maybe they just really, really wanted to torture us fans.
The Great Ruzek Scare of 2023
Remember that heart-stopping Season 10 finale? The one where Ruzek got shot? Yeah, that was fun. Not. I’m pretty sure my heart stopped for a solid five minutes. I was ready to riot. I mean, how dare they put our boy through that? And us, for that matter. It was like watching a really intense horror movie, except instead of Jason Voorhees, it was a bunch of bad guys with guns.
But then, the Season 11 premiere rolled around, and hallelujah, Ruzek was alive! Thank goodness for small miracles, right? Although, let’s be honest, the guy was in pretty rough shape. Physical therapy, anyone? I’m starting to think Ruzek's life is one long, drawn-out action sequence interspersed with recovery periods.
Will Ruzek Ever Catch a Break?
Seriously, this guy can’t catch a break. One minute he’s undercover, the next he’s getting shot. It’s like the writers have a personal vendetta against him or something. I’m starting to think they secretly want him to retire and open a bakery or something. Imagine Ruzek baking cupcakes. Now that would be a show I'd watch.
But in all seriousness, we can’t help but worry about Ruzek. He’s become a fan favorite, and we can’t imagine the show without him. So, please, writers, be kind. Give the guy a break. Maybe let him have a normal day without any explosions or gunfire? Just once? Pretty please?
How to Cope with the Ruzek Rollercoaster
If you're as emotionally invested in Ruzek's well-being as I am, here are a few tips to help you cope:
- How to avoid spoilers: Unfollow all Chicago P.D. accounts on social media until after you've watched the episode.
- How to calm your nerves: Breathe. Deeply. Repeat. Maybe try some meditation or yoga.
- How to prepare for the worst: Stock up on tissues and chocolate. You're going to need them.
- How to celebrate Ruzek's survival: Treat yourself to something nice. You deserve it.
- How to support the show: Keep watching and telling your friends about it. We need to keep Ruzek on our screens!
So, there you have it. The Ruzek saga continues. Here's hoping for a less dramatic season 12. But knowing Chicago P.D., we're probably setting ourselves up for disappointment.
Fingers crossed.
