NYC's Snowless Wonder: A Winter of Disappointment (or Delight?)
New York City, the concrete jungle where dreams are made (and rents are astronomical), had a shocking winter last year. We're talking shocking as in, "Where's the snow, you frosty b*tch?" levels of shocking.
A Snow-less Wonderland
You'd think that a city that can handle everything from rats to traffic would be a pro at handling snow. But nope! Mother Nature decided to give the Big Apple a big, fat snow-free middle finger. It was like a cruel joke, a winter prank gone horribly wrong.
We went from dreaming of building snowmen and having epic snowball fights to... well, not doing those things. No snow days, no cozying up by the fireplace with a hot chocolate, and definitely no excuse to wear those adorable snow boots.
The Numbers Don't Lie (But They're Boring)
So, how much snow did NYC actually get in 2023? Well, let's just say it was about as exciting as watching paint dry. Central Park, the official snow measuring spot, recorded a grand total of 2.3 inches of snowfall for the entire year. Yes, you read that right. Two point three. Inches.
To put that into perspective, that's less snow than most people get on their car windshield after a particularly frosty night. It's like Mother Nature was on a diet or something.
The Silver Lining (If You Squint)
Okay, so no snow might sound like the worst thing ever to some people. But hey, there's always a silver lining, right? No snow meant no shoveling, no icy sidewalks to slip and fall on, and no traffic jams caused by the white stuff. So, there's that.
Plus, it gave us plenty of time to perfect our indoor winter activities: binge-watching Netflix, eating copious amounts of comfort food, and complaining about the weather (which is a New York City pastime, anyway).
How to Survive a Snowless Winter in NYC
So, what's a snow-loving New Yorker to do when winter decides to take a vacation? Fear not, we've got you covered.

- How to plan a fake snow day: Call in sick, order takeout, and pretend it's a blizzard outside.
