What is excitingly new in version 18936

Mobile screens are now available on some Surface devices

As promised, we love to expand the availability of mobile screen features to more PCs. With the latest driver update on the Windows Insider Ring (Marvell 15.68.17013.110), the following Surface devices will show an overview of mobile screen features: Surface laptops, laptop Surface 2, Surface Pro 4, Surface Pro 5, Surface Pro 6, Surface Pro, etc. . Surface Book 2. If you have one of these devices, try telling us what you think!

Create a quick event from the taskbar

Have you ever opened a clock and calendar booklet to help you set your mind when making a plan? We strive to facilitate new events and reminders and we are pleased to announce that starting today, all Quick Ring members will see them when they click on the date in the task bar:

Select the desired date and start typing: You will now see an online option to set the time and place. We hope to see you! Let us know if you have comments.

Go without the password with the Microsoft account

For enhanced security and easy login, you can now activate a passwordless login for a Microsoft account on your Windows 10 device by going to Settings> Account> Enter Options and selecting "Active" in "Configure your device." When you enable login without a password, all Microsoft accounts on your Windows 10 device will be upgraded to Windows Hello Face, Fingerprint, or modern PIN authentication. Isn't Windows ready? No problem! We will guide you through experience management during the next registration process. Do you want to know how Windows Hello PIN is safer than password? Get more information here.

Note: this function is currently available for a small number of insiders and it is possible that the above options are not displayed for all users in the configuration. If the switch has not been shown to you, come back in a week.

Improvements and enhancements in Build 18936

  • Fixed an issue that caused a failure to install games through the Xbox application on a previous flight.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed the photo mosaic to be drawn directly outside the mosaic boundary.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the emoji panel to be blocked when high contrast was activated.
  • We update disk type text on the Task manager Performance tab so that it now matches the size of other subtexts on this tab.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented release in the foreground of selected items from the specified application drop-down list on the taskbar.
  • Fixed an issue that could prevent the virtual desktop mosaic in the task view being updated after moving the window to another desktop.
  • Running the Windows Sandbox no longer requires administrator rights.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented composition strings from appearing in some applications when writing with Japanese IME.

Known issues in Windows 10 Build 18936

  • It is possible that some people who tried to install Build 18936 failed during the installation with an error code c1900101 due to a storage driver compatibility error on their device. The device will try to install, fail and successfully restore the version currently installed on the device. Retrying trying to install a version, both manual and automatic, will not solve this problem. Repair will come, but at present there is no known solution. Note: By default, updates try to install (3) times. Users can pause updates if they experience this problem and want to avoid attempts.
  • Initiates can see some changes to the magnifying glass with today's buildings. This is not ready for you to try, but we will notify you after the next flight.
  • There was a problem with the previous version of the anti-cheat software used with games where, after updating to the latest version of 19H1 Insider Preview, the PC could experience interference. We are working with partners to upgrade their software with improvements, and most games have released patches to prevent computers from facing this problem. To minimize the risk of this problem, be sure to run the latest version of your game before trying to update the operating system. We also work with anti-cheat developers and game developers to solve similar problems that might appear with people's preview in 20H1 and we will try to minimize the possibility of this problem in the future.
  • Some Realtek SD card readers do not function correctly. We are studying this case.
  • Tamper protection can be disabled in Windows Security after updating this building. You can turn it on again. In August, protection against sabotage will be reactivated by default for everyone inside.
  • Sometimes, the selection of candidates in the candidate prediction window for Japanese IME does not match the composition chain. We are studying this case.
  • We are investigating reports that some informants have experienced a lot of delays in their system after updating this building. If you are worried, you can have a better experience when you switch to Microsoft Basic Display drivers. To do this, right-click the display adapter in Device Manager and select Deactivate Device. Note that this will result in the loss of sophisticated display functions, such as multi-monitor support. Returning to the previous version must also resolve this problem and allow you to continue to use the advanced screen feature.
